#### In Brief

The European Inventor Award is one of the most prestigious innovation prizes in Europe, an annual event that celebrates the remarkable achievements of inventors worldwide. Launched in 2006 by the European Patent Office (EPO), it recognises and honours the inventive spirit of individuals who drive progress and constantly challenge the boundaries of what is possible with their inquisitive minds and innovative ideas. Transforming ideas into technological progress, economic growth and improvement to our daily lives. 

Design Bridge and Partners Germany partnered with EPO to create an integrated visual identity system for the European Inventor Award. As the award ceremony is streamed live to a global audience the brief included creating digital assets for broadcast including stings and idents for the event, the categories, and the nominees.

#### What we did

We developed a campaign identity narrative that invited viewers to dive into the remarkable world of inventions and explore the phenomenal minds of those responsible for them. Through a series of captivating visuals, we showcased the unique beauty of these Inventive Minds. We created 17 unique artworks, reflecting the inventions featured in the awards show and the creative minds behind them. 

It was the first time, the European Patent Office had a strong, cohesive creative idea and narrative underpinning the identity for the European Inventor Award. The hybrid event took place on 21st June 2022 in Munich, and was streamed live on inventoraward.org, Youtube and Euronews, attracting 25% more viewers than in 2021. The Giphy account exploded from 0 to 11 million views within 10 months.
